Cheat Sheets For Developers

First off I need to apologise for being out of zone for the past months. Got overwhelmed at work, had to make some major decisions in life, and when I got some time to myself, I just needed the break. :P

Well I want to share something very important today, something that is very close to the hearts of all developers. Developers these days need to have different skill sets, and need to know them well. With the amount that we need to know, it’s not unusual if we forgot some API from some languages.

Enter cheat sheets. :D

Imagine how I felt when I found a site that are providing quality cheat sheets that are written by bestselling authors and leading experts. *whoohoo~!*

The information contained in these cheat sheets are reliable and relevant for today’s developers, giving us the edge that we all need on a tight schedule. I don’t think I have to sell them to you anymore; I bet you already know that they are good resources. ;)

Head over to RefCardz, get yourself registered with them, and finally grab their RSS feed.

Disclaimer: I’m not getting anything out of this from DZone. I simply think it is a great thing that they are doing for the community and thus, I do my part to spread the love. :)

Dying To See Some RIA Action?

RIAction

The scene of Rich Internet Applications (RIA) is some what not as vibrant as I would want it to be over here in sunny Singapore. At least that’s what I thought.

Apparently though, I wasn’t the only one. :P

With concerted effort, Shunjie, the manager of the Singapore Flex Usergroup, managed to put up the first RIA oriented event in Singapore, called RIAction!

RIAction will be a full day event that aims to provide developers in the region updates on the latest RIA trends, covering topics from the Adobe Flash Platform, Microsoft Silverlight, AJAX and popular web APIs like Google’s.

All in all, I feel positively excited about RIAction as this promise to be the first major event where you see big names coming together. I’m sure attendees, at the end of the day, will be equipped with the know-hows of each platform, and how to better piece everything together to create the next big thing.

Mark it in your calendar! ;)
Date: 26th February 2009
Time: 9am-6pm
Where: Microsoft Auditorium
1 Marina Boulevard #22-01
One Marina Boulevard
Singapore 018989
Nearest MRT: Raffles Place MRT

If you’re as excited as I am, here’s the biggest bang yet. RIAction is a *FREE* event, so why wait? Get yourself registered today! :D
